Electrical problems on heavy equipment don't announce themselves with a lot of warning. One day the crane is running fine, and the next you've got intermittent faults, unreliable controls, or a machine that won't function at all. Aging wiring under a crane is one of the most common culprits - and one of the easiest things to ignore until it becomes a real problem.

Here's what we were working with on this one. The wiring under the crane had seen better days. Worn insulation, degraded connections, the kind of harness that's been through years of vibration, heat, and exposure. Left alone, that's a recipe for unexpected downtime - and on a piece of equipment this size, downtime is expensive.

We brought out our service truck to get proper access to the covered connections. That's the thing about this type of work - you can't just pull up with a toolbox. Getting into the electrical compartments on a crane like this takes the right setup. Once we had access, we pulled the old harness, replaced it with fresh wiring, and cleaned everything up so the connections are organized, protected, and easy to service down the road.

The new harness is routed cleanly with proper terminations throughout. Each circuit is color-coded, secured, and done in a way that makes future troubleshooting straightforward. That kind of organization matters - especially on equipment that other technicians may need to work on later. It's not just about fixing what's broken. It's about leaving the system in better shape than we found it.

This is exactly the kind of work our Electrical and Technical team handles alongside our Specialized Truck and Equipment capabilities. Whether it's a crane, a piece of fleet equipment, or anything else with electrical issues that need field service, we have the tools and the experience to handle it properly.
