Sometimes one issue on a crane leads to a few more once you get in there. That's exactly what happened on this job. What started as a leaking extension cylinder turned into a full inspection - and we're glad it did, because there were a handful of other things that needed attention before this crane was going back to work.
We pulled the extension cylinder to stop the leak, and while it was out, we replaced the wear pads. That's just smart wrenching. If the cylinder is already out, there's no reason to put it back together without fresh wear pads. Small extra step, big difference in how the crane performs and how long it stays reliable.
From there we replaced a bad pressure gauge and a broken transmitter. A gauge that doesn't read right isn't just a nuisance - it gives operators false information about what the crane is actually doing under load. The old transmitter was beat up and done. New one in, clean connection, no more guessing. The wire rope also got relaced. Loose rope on a crane is the kind of thing that gets ignored until it can't be anymore. We'd rather catch it and fix it on our terms.
This is the kind of service that keeps a crew from losing a day - or worse. When your crane truck is down, everything behind it stops too. Getting ahead of these issues, or handling them fast when they show up, is what keeps jobs on schedule. That's what our specialized truck and equipment service is built around.
Frontline Fleet comes to you. Whether it's a job site, a yard, or the side of the road, we bring the tools and know-how to get your equipment back in service. If you've got a crane truck or service truck that needs attention, we're ready to handle it.
